I see value in both ways of looking at stone masons' activity. The first way, squaring the stone, one might say is the buddist way. It puts you in the moment of now where true living excite. It allows you to be present to create quality with your work. The other way, building a catherdral, brings inspiration because it views the activity as part of a greater whole with a purpose that far exceeds the current act. As the stone is being set the cathedral is just a dream but it is holding those dreams that creates reality. Do you find this valuable? |
